The staff were excedingly courteous, and very patient with our poor spanish. The food was delicious and very reasonable (a bottle of wine at dinner cost just 6 euros). The rooms were comfortable, clean and had fantastic views (although we did pay extra for the balcony rooms). Location is incredible. Free wifi, an unexpected bonus.
The aircon in the rooms wasn't particularly cold. No tea or coffee making facilities, not sure if this is standard in spanish hotels as this is the first we have stayed in.

We wanted tranquility, relaxation, good food and the opportunity to enjoy our surroundings on foot. All these wishes were comfortably fulfilled. We have stayed in numerous hotels over the years and I can't recall any that provided such good value for one's money. We fervently hope these standards are maintained as we certainly intend to return in the future. We will also inform our friends of our wonderful 'break'.

We booked a "superior room with terrace" - the terrace was the best bit. The views were stunning. Breakfast was excellent - the grounds were very pleasant - the place had a lot of character. Thankfully it was very quiet whilst we were there, could imagine that if it had been busy then our room and terrace (which overlooked the terrace leading from the cafeteria) would have been very noisy.
When we walked into our room, there was an overpowering smell of disinfectant which we felt was probably used to cover up a nasty smell in the bathroom. When we woke the next morning, the smell from the bathroom was particularly unpleasant. When we checked out we mentioned this to reception and give them their due, they did give us a small discount on the price - the smell did spoil our stay however. Wouldn't stay there again I'm afraid.

Location was tremendous - spacious, away from the bussle. A chance to relax and appreciate nature at it's best, very therapeutic. Staff were attentive but not intrusive, the food was rustic and characterised Spain at it's best.
